Road closure information

On Sunday 11 July, access to Queensland Museum will only be available on foot or by public transport due to the Tour de Brisbane cycling event. All precinct car parks will be closed until 1pm. If you’re travelling via public transport, the closest train station is South Brisbane station and the closest bus station is Cultural Centre station. Expect delays and plan your journey using alternate routes if driving. Find out more.

On Foot

The museum is a short walk across the river from the Brisbane CBD.

You can enter the museum via Level 2 and exit via the gift store.

There is a public car park directly below the museum. Access in and out of the Cultural Centre car park is only available via Stanley Place and then via the Culture Centre tunnel to the car parks.

Unfortunately, there is no guarantee a car space will be available. The morning sessions are the most popular and the carpark often fills quickly.

Credit Cards (Visa & MasterCard) only, no EFTPOS or cash available.

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday: 5:30am to midnight
Saturday and Sunday: 7:00am to midnight
Public holidays: 7:00am to midnight (closed Good Friday and Christmas Day)

Alternative parking is available at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
Payment is by credit card only (Visa or Mastercard). Visa and MasterCard are accepted at exit booths, or Fast Pay Fast Exit using credit card on entry and exit.
