Once a month, the Discovery Centre showcases unique objects and specimens from behind the scenes. Meet our remarkable staff, including curators, collection managers, conservators, scientists or librarians and hear more about their work at Queensland Museum.
Check the events calendar each month for details.

Visit us on site

When visiting our museums, adults accompanying children are encouraged to scaffold and model learning behaviours such as conversations, observations, comparisons and inquiring to learn together.
This will foster a love of learning while supporting connections to environments and communities from  local to global. Museums are a great way to make learning fun and learn at your own pace.
Staff are located throughout our museums to assist, offer directions or interpret information. Children’s activities and interactions feature throughout our galleries and grounds.

Our network of museums also run programs for families, these include The Workshops Rail Museum (Ipswich), Cobb+Co Museum (Toowoomba) and Museum of Tropical Queensland (Townsville).
