Sensory Friendly Session

For this very special afternoon, we will turn the sound down and make accommodations to support visitors who prefer a quieter, sensory-friendly experience.

Entry to some of our ticketed exhibitions will be strictly limited to ensure visitors with sensory processing challenges can comfortably explore the museum.

We will also have a peaceful Chill Out Zone set up as a dedicated quiet space for use during the visit.

Entry is free to the Museum, though bookings are essential for the following exhibitions:

Companion cards are accepted on the day with a ticketed guest. Children under 5 are free.

What to expect

We will make some modifications to our displays and exhibits. While we will do our best to minimise the noise levels of the exhibits, not all of them will be completely silent.

  • 9:30am – 2pm: Usual AV levels in the Museum.
  • 2pm – 3pm: Museum AV levels adjusted. Signage installed to assist families on their visit.
  • 3pm – 5.45pm: Museum AV turned down. Limited visitor numbers for SparkLab and NASA – A Human Adventure (bookings are essential).
