Anzac Legacy Gallery Symposium

Join us on Saturday 27 April  to commemorate Anzac Day. Hear from historical experts on Gallipoli, the experience of Indigenous soldiers during and after the First World War, untold stories of nurses and notable women, and the curation of our Anzac Legacy Gallery.

Morning session – 10:30am-12:00pm 

Interrogating Anzac
Panel members include: 
• Mark Whitmore, Historian and heritage consultant, on Gallipoli and beyond
• Eric Law, Wakka Wakka elder, on Indigenous soldiers stories during the First World War
• Robyn Hamilton, Lead of Queensland Memory at State Library of Queensland, on the recovered stories of selected nurses and other notable women. 

Afternoon session – 13:30pm-15:00pm

Bringing a First World War Gallery To Life
Panel members include: 
• Geraldine Mate, Acting Head of Cultures and Histories Program at Queensland Museum, on curating the Anzac Legacy Gallery 
• Romeo Digital representatives on creating digital interactive exhibits within the gallery
• Nicole McCuaig, Producer and Director, on Anzac stories documentary and interviews with veterans around the country.
• Solitaire Osei, Senior Conservator of Textiles at Queensland Museum, on the mourning gown reproduction. 


This is a ticketed event. Tickets are free and used to managed audience size due to capacity limits.
