Biographical Info: 

Darryl is Collection Manager for both Crustacea and Mollusca sections, and a research assistant for Crustacea section. He began working in the mollusc and crustacea sections of the Queensland Museum in 1982. (Prior to this, he had volunteered in these sections during 1980 and 1981.) Darryl had previously studied Applied Science, Biology at Queensland University of Technology and worked as a research assistant in Microbiology at University of Queensland. Later, he completed a Masters Degree in Environmental Science at Griffith University. His strong interests in wildlife biology, macro-photography, and scuba diving have helped him acquire an extensive knowledge of marine and terrestrial molluscs of Australia. Darryl has written many popular articles, contributed to scientific texts and field guides, and is co-author of ‘Shells of Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef’. Currently, he is assisting in the compilation and publication of a field guide to the Landsnails of Eastern Australia.
