Colubrid Snakes (Family Colubridae): South-east Queensland

Australian colubrids either have no fangs, or fangs at the back of their mouths. Most are considered harmless. They are arboreal (live in trees), aquatic, or found near waterways. Australia has only 11 species, and only 3 are found in the Greater Brisbane Region. Outside Australia, colubrids are the most abundant and widespread snakes. Arranged in alphabetical order by scientific name.
