HMS Pandora - Vessel specifications

HMS Pandora was a 24-gun "Porcupine Class" frigate. The vessel was designed by Sir John Williams. She was built in Deptford (London) by Messrs Adams, Barnard & Dudman in 1778-79.

Overall length: 114 feet 3 inches (35 metres)

Length along the keel: 94 feet 3 inches (29 metres)

Breadth: 32 feet 2 inches (9.8 metres)

Draught: 15 feet (4.5 metres)

Tonnage: 513 tons

The Pandora was armed with:

  • 20 six-pounder cannon
  • 4 eighteen-pounder carronades
  • 12 half-pounder swivel guns
