Identification:
- Back light-brown to grey-brown colour with broad, dark brown to black stripes; pale, dark-edged line down the middle
- Dark stripe from the snout to forearm
- White belly
- Upper half of iris golden, lower half brown
- Female 75 mm; male 70 mm
Habitat and range:
- Very abundant; finds and breeds in artificial ponds
- Eastern Australia, including Tas.
