N. F. Douglas Lumber Limited is a local company in the Caledonia area, close to Kejimkujik National Park. The company began in 1875 as general merchants and lumber manufacturers. It's been active in logging and lumbering in the area since this time.

In the early days, the company operated a sawmill and general store. Today the store's still there and there's a small museum containing some of the original fittings and merchandise. There's also a modern sawmill that employs more than 40 workers, with another 75 indirect and spin-off jobs.

The mill supplies high-quality Eastern White Pine to Canadian markets and exports premium pine lumber to Britain, where it's made into furniture.
