The complete skeleton of this marine reptile was found in 1990 near the town of Richmond, north-western Queensland

Kronosaurus

The Kronosaurus
Kronosaurus had teeth the size of bananas. It roamed the inland sea hunting ichthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, turtles and large fish, and was the most ferocious and largest sea creature of its time.

Platypetergius

The Platyptergius
Platypterygius was a large ichthyosaur. Fossils of this animal are amongst the most common of the large marine reptiles found in Queensland.

Dave the Plesiosaur

Dave the Plesiosaur
One of the most exciting reptile finds in Queensland, Dave was a type of plesiosaur, known as an elasmosaurid. These large marine reptiles had four flippers and resembled a seal with a very long neck.
