Terms & Conditions
By entering the competition you are acknowledging that you have read and understood the competition terms and conditions.

- Information on "how to enter" and the prizes form part of these terms and conditions of entry. Entries not completed in accordance with these terms and conditions or received after the closing date for the relevant term will not be considered.
- There is no entry fee associated with this competition.
- For entrants in section one, the picture based on the loan kit borrowed by the sponsoring school/community organisation must be no larger than 23cm high and 14 cm wide (as specified in the entry form). This must be hand-drawn/created, not computer designed. Pictures must be the original article (not scanned, photocopied or photographed).
- For entrants in section two, the creative piece must be no longer than 300 words. This may be hand written or typed using a word processer.
- The finished product must be the exclusive work of the entrant.
- All entries must be accompanied by an Entry Form that is completed in full and signed by a parent or guardian. Entries that do not have the completed entry form attached or are unsigned by a parent or guardian will not be considered.
- Entries must be related to a loan kit borrowed by the sponsoring school/community organisation within the competition term, not previous or future terms, i.e. if entering the competition within term three 2008 the entry must be related to a kit borrowed in term three 2008, not previous terms. Evidence of the sponsoring organisation's loan of the kit within the term may be requested at any time throughout the competition.
- Individuals can enter more than once, but may only make one entry per loan kit borrowed by your school or community group (i.e. individuals are unable to enter two drawings relating to the same kit).

Entries may be posted in bulk by the sponsoring school/community organisation.
- Term prizes will be drawn each Queensland school term from term four 2008 until close of business on the last day of Queensland State School term two 2011 (exact date to be advised).
- At the conclusion of each school term, Queensland Museum in conjunction with Australia Post, will judge the entries and award the winners in each category with a personalised stamp sheet containing 20 x 50c domestic stamps (valued at $23 per set of 20). Each stamp will be of the same design. The sheet will contain the winning design OR an image of the winning entrant on the stamp tab (at the winner's option).
- Prizes in the major prize draw will be drawn twice yearly in July and December. The major prize will consist of a package of goods valued at $500. The prize package will include goods selected by Queensland Museum at its discretion, and could include a multifunction printer, photocopier and scanner system, Queensland Museum publications and merchandise, general office merchandise and stationery.
- The total prize pool value (current as at date of competition commencement) is $4,016.00. Any additional costs other then those outlined in the promotion are the responsibility of the winners. Prize components may alter at the discretion of the Promoters.
- Only Queensland residents living outside the Brisbane metropolitan area aged between 4 - 13 years are eligible to enter. Proof of age may be requested at any time throughout the competition
- Entrants must be sponsored by a school/community group who borrow loans from the Queensland Museum Regional Loans service.
- Employees and immediate family of the Queensland Museum are ineligible to enter.
- All entries become the property of the Queensland Museum. Entries will not be returned, and may be archived or destroyed at the discretion of the Queensland Museum.
- By signing the competition entry form you agree to:
a) grant to the Queensland Museum an irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish and communicate the submitted artwork/text (the Work), or any part of the Work, to the public and in any media throughout the world for the full term of copyright subsisting in the Work; and
b) waive moral rights in respect of the Work for the full term of copyright in the Work;
c) warrant that the work does not infringe any existing intellectual property rights.
d) approve any fair and reasonable permission requests from third parties to reuse material contained in the Work for any purpose during the term of copyright subsisting in the Work.
- Prizes are non-transferable and non-redeemable for cash.
- The promoter is Queensland Museum Corner Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Brisbane Qld 4101 ABN 71 409 081 264. The Promoters are not liable for lost, late or misdirected mail.
- Winners will be notified by mail or telephone within seven working days from the date of judging. Term prize winners will be published on the Queensland Museum Loans website at www.qm.qld.gov.au/education/loans within seven working days from the date of drawing.
- The prize is strictly as stated in the Entry Forms and Competition Booklet located in the Queensland Museum Regional loan kits. The promoter's decision in relation to any aspect of this promotion is final and binding on every person who enters. No correspondence will be entered into.
- To the full extent permitted by law, the promoters exclude liability for any loss, damage or injury whatsoever suffered or sustained (including, but not limited to direct, indirect, special or consequential loss or damage, loss of opportunity revenue or profit) arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with this promotion.
- The promoter may in its absolute discretion suspend, cancel or recommence the promotion if:
a) for any reason the promotion is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the promotion; or
b) the determination of the prize winners or the delivery of the prizes is prevented or hindered by any outside agent or event including but not limited to vandalism, power failure, tempest, natural disaster, acts of God, civil unrest or strikes or other industrial action.
- By entering into the competition your personal information will be used only for the purpose intended in relation to administration and management of this promotional activity.
