Bloom: Wildflowers of Greater Brisbane

Kangaroo apple

A garden of wildflowers surrounds Brisbane. Our new exhibition highlights some of the most beautiful plants in our back yard.

The exquisite wildflower photographs in this exhibition are part of our collection of more than 300 000 images that document the natural and cultural heritage of Queensland.

The Greater Brisbane Region is one of the greenest urban environments in the world and supports an incredibly rich environment of plants and animals that includes almost 3000 species of native plants.

The photographs on display in Bloom were taken for the best-selling publication, Wild Plants of Greater Brisbane, published by the Museum in partnership with the Queensland Herbarium and Brisbane City Council.

The photographers include Jeff Wright, Gary Cranitch and Bruce Cowell.
