Discovery Day

For Little Learners 

For the first time and to celebrate National Science Week, Queensland Museum has developed a free Museum Discovery Day for Little Learners under 5 year thanks to funding from Inspiring Australia.

C&K, Real World Learning, Young Engineers and Early Cognitive Development Centre will be joining the celebration setting up fun hands-on educational activity stations throughout the museum.

Plus you can become an intrepid explorer and meet an insect or arachnid curator, listen to parasitology storytelling, see a wildlife show, dance like a dinosaur and more. 


Discovery Day for little learners

When: Tuesday 15 August 2017

  • Activities run between 9.30am and 2.30pm
  • Wildlife Shows: 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm
  • Dance with Jurassic Joe: 9.45am, 10.45am, 12.45pm and 1.45pm.
  • Meet our Insect Curator: 11am – 12pm
  • Meet our Arachnid Curator: 1pm – 2pm
  • Parasitology Storytelling 1pm, 2pm

Age: Designed for ages prep age and below.

Entry to the Sciencentre will be discounted for the day with all children only $9 and accompanying adults free! Children under 3 are also free as usual. Discounted tickets are only available for purchase at the Museum on Discovery Day. 

Bookings are essential for groups of 10 or more children. Please note we cannot book groups in to specific activities. We recommend for ages 2-5 that you have a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children and that you experience the day in small groups.
