SOLD OUT Art Forensic Workshop: 2D

Missed out on this workshop? You can still listen to Susan Hayes talk about Forensic Facial Reconstruction in Brisbane on 17 August.

Delve into the fascinating world of 2D (drawing) facial reconstruction with Dr Susan Hayes, a facial anthropologist, using her forensic research methods developed through the University of Dundee.

Tickets: $75
Bookings essential. Participants must be over 18 years. Price includes meals and refreshments.

Using an enlarged A2 outline of the skull, individuals will be working step by step from skull to skin to create the facial appearance of a unique human covering different aspects of facial anatomy, function, evolution and individual differences. You will certainly never look at a human face in quite the same way again.

The emphasis of this workshop is:

  • human facial variation, the relationship between the skull and facial features (eyes, nose, mouth) and
  • how to depict the underlying facial features, muscles and glands.

All materials are provided and no prior experience, artistic or scientific, is either required or expected. Participants are welcome to bring along a camera to record your progress.

This program is run with support from Inspiring Australia for National Science Week.
