Drug discovery in Malaria

Speaker: Professor Vicky Avery, Chief Investigator & Head, Discovery Biology, Eskitis Institute for Drug Discovery, Griffith University

The focus of Vicky’s group is drug discovery, with the aim of identifying novel molecules for the treatment and improved understanding of disease. They have successfully designed and implemented assays for human parasites, namely malaria and human-infecting trypanosomes in Africa.
