Eskitis Institute

National Science Week Event

Cures from the Seas and the Trees

Students and staff from the Eskitis Institute will take to the theatre stage to present short and snappy 5-10 minute presentations of their research, it's importance, and how it is contributing to the search for new cures for common diseases.

The presentations will feature "Nature Bank", the Eskitis Institute's unique biodiscovery collection of over 45,000 samples of plants and marine species, including many collected by the Museum's own scientists. The presentations will highlight current medical research and the continuing value of biodiversity as a source of new medicines.
