Brisbane Open House 2012

ALL SESSIONS ARE NOW FULL. Thank you for your interest in the Queensland Museum.

On Saturday 6 October we'll be participating in the Brisbane Open House program for 2012.

We'll be offering guided back of house tours in two areas: the Biodiversity collections stores and the Cultures & Histories collections stores.

Tour details

Biodiversity tours will include viewing unique animals (vertebrates) and seashells from the Biodiversity collections, including extinct and endangered species. This tour will highlight how these specimens, including stuffed animals, study skins, shells and more, are used for research and how specimens come into the collection.

There are two differing Cultures & Histories tours, one focusing on Queensland Stories and the other on Customs, Culture and Country.  The Queensland Stories tour includes the viewing of important objects from the social history collection. The Customs, Culture and Country tour will highlight selected Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander objects.

Tours are offered free of charge.

Limited wheelchair access is available.

Please wear comfortable closed-in shoes.
