Delve into the mysterious unseen world of the Museum’s collection stores with our expert tour guides. The Museum is like an iceberg – only a small part of our huge collection is on display. Join us for a unique chance to see our priceless collections up close and learn more about how we store and look after these precious objects and specimens.

Biodiversity collection tour

All creatures great and small make their way into our Biodiversity collection, where our scientists care for and study the material evidence of Queensland’s natural history. Specimens on display include those that span the entire animal kingdom: from tiny single-cell protozoans to blue whales; from items collected last week to others collected 150 years ago; and from living species to those that are now extinct.

When: Tours are operated on the third Saturday of each month.
Time: Biodiversity Tours start at 11:00 am. Bookings are essential.
Cost: $35 Adults, $15 Child (7-15) Suitable for children over 6.
