New dogs, old tricks: Rediscovering heritage trades at the National Carriage Factory
Jeff Powell, Heritage Trades Curator, Cobb + Co Museum

The new National Carriage Factory at Cobb+Co Museum is dedicated to teaching heritage trades. The heritage trades industry is undergoing rapid growth nationally and internationally, but there is a dramatic decline in the number of people practising these trades, and crafts.

The National Carriage Factory preserves the history of heritage trades and crafts, perpetuates skills which help preserve our material culture, and fosters new creative uses for these age old skills.
