Shining a light on collections in Mackay and Isaac regions
In 2012 our Museum Development Officers are working with 21 collecting institutions in the Mackay and Isaac regions to help shine a light on the richness and potential of their collections.
By helping these organisations develop their knowledge of their collections and creating stronger connections within communities, the Museum hopes to contribute to their long-term success.
The project will also feed in to the work of the Mackay Region Showcase Committee, which is looking to establish a regional museum for the Mackay area.
All this is made possible thanks to the generous support of BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal, which has enabled the Museum to provide its development services free of charge.
